Water skiing is a relatively new sport, invented by Ralph Samuelson of Minnesota in 1922. After trying to water ski with snow skis and failing, Samuelson strapped wooden boards on his feet and was able to skim over the water while being pulled behind a boat.
Now there are hundreds of renowned water ski spots around the world. Water ski vacation destinations often offer lessons with pro skiers, ideal skiing conditions and warm water temperatures and protected waters that return to glass within minutes of running a slalom course.
In operation for 26 weeks annually between November and May, Gordon Rathbun’s Ski Paradise offers all-inclusive ski vacations in Mexico. Guests stay on-site in a three-story villa run by Gordon and his wife Gabriela. After winning his first national title in 1983, Gordon went on to tour with the pros and win five additional national titles. Now he spends his winter and spring seasons teaching skiers of all levels at his villa in Acapulco.

My father was from Effingham and his mother and several of his brothers stayed there. Our family often visited there including at Lake Sara. Nice town and lake. [links]
lol never been to wi in my boat, clinton lake ,il and rend lake,il or drive down to land between the lakes kentucky, but clinton lake about 1.5 hors from ya has beaches right by the camp grounds i have n't been there awhile was a cooling lake, rend lake is good fishing so is lake barkely in kentucky
Spent many years sailing there and it is an excellant lake for sailing. Good winds and few problems from power boaters charging thru a sailboat racing fleet.
