anyways. So I did some experiments. C clamped the old bracket to the center and lightly installed the kicker. All parts are free and clear. My picture only shows my motor tilted up. But I wouldn't mind figuring out a way to install there. But here's the kicker . pun intended. more

long story short..need a new bracket. And a good place to mount it.. if I use holes 6" lower, then when I raise, it'll store 6" higher. it will then it's skimming the water at 25mph. Manual tilting is tough and awkward because it will sit 2 ft behind where you can stand. Can anyone reccomend a long travel bracket and suggestions on how to ease manual tilt for storage when I use my kicker

Since the tiller handle is always angled to port, my personal preference is to always mount the kicker on the starboard side. It makes steering it a lot easier. All you should have over there is the cable, not the bracket that attaches to the motor. here

When using a retractable bracket, the motor needs to be vertical in the up position. If you tilted it up, that's why you broke the bracket.

The Toon Kicker makes it possible to mount an auxiliary trolling motor on a pontoon boat. [links]

Now you can rig your pontoon boat for slow-speed trolling, and have some get-home insurance. [links]

The Toon Kicker is made from powder-coated, quarter-inch 6061 aluminum plate, bent at a right angle. One surface is mounted to the aft deck of the boat, while the other extends downward and can accommodate a lifting motor bracket, which must be supplied by the boat owner. The unit is braced by an arm that extends forward to be bolted to the structure of the boat. The Toon Kicker can be mounted to port or starboard of the main motor, and a slotted backing plate for the brace makes it possible to fit the unit most boats. Witte said that kicker brackets from Pow’rTran, Garelick, Marine Tech and Panther will bolt up to the Toon Kicker, which is designed to support 120 pounds and an outboard up to 9.9 horsepower. The kicker motor can be steered via a tie rod to the anti-ventilation plate of the main motor. [links]

Apparently one problem with running a big outboard on a pontoon boat is that sometimes you’ve got too much power. Or at least too much speed for trolling, when the motor is a big V6 turning a high-pitch prop. That’s one reason Al Witte, owner of Pow’rTran in St. Cloud, Minn., devised the Toon Kicker mounting bracket for rigging an auxiliary outboard to a pontoon boat. here

Once it's mounted and you hang the kicker on it, let us know if the swim platform flexes any. Looking at going to a kicker for walleye fishing but was looking at the Pooderbuilt mount which is more expensive but has a bracket that goes under the platform for support. [links]

Here's a few more pictures, I haven't drilled and bolted to the boat yet it just sitting there. It's 1" square tube like I said it's not as sturdy looking as Pooderbuilt but I think it will be fine. My motor should be back next week (been in shop rebuilding the power tilt) and then I will update with pictures. [links]

Sure, 4200 would be perfectly fine to use for sealant (don't use 5200!). Boat Life LifeSeal or LifeCaulk is also excellent. here
