South of Worth Avenue is the ultra-exclusive social club, the Everglades Club that was originally intended as a Convalescent Club for WWI wounded in 1918. The war ended within a few months of completion and it became a private club. The Palm Beach Docks are located just north of the Club’s golf course and is the only public marina on Palm Beach Island. Since the 1940s, the Town Docks have provided slips for sail and power yachts up to 260’. Palm Harbor Marina located in a prime downtown spot on Flagler Drive near City Place, is south of Flagler Bridge and minutes to the Palm Beach Inlet. It has 200 slips for vessels 50-200’ in length. Rybovich Marina is a luxurious resort style superyacht marina with 85 wet slips for yachts up to 300’ and unobstructed deep-water access to the Atlantic Ocean.
North Palm Beach Marina is a 5-star rated designated Safe Harbor with 107 slips for vessels 45-150’ and is open to the public 7 days a week. It offers the complimentary use of the North Palm Beach Country Club with pool, tennis and 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course. No bridges and easy ocean access. Lake Park Harbor Marina is dog-friendly and a designated Clean Marina with overnight trailer parking for boaters making roundtrip ocean crossings to the Bahamas (60 nautical miles to West End). Business magnate and railroad tycoon, Henry Flagler, saw an opportunity to create a tropical escape for wealthy northerners via his Florida East Coast Railway, and built two opulent hotels on the barrier island of Palm Beach in the mid-1890s.
