Yamaha 25hp 4 stroke starter motor
See full version: Electric Starter Kit 4 Stroke F6 (~04/06), F8, F9. 9 (04/08~) Electric Start Kit 6DR-W8180-10-00
Starter kit included all you need. Just follow the instructions included. Easy install, the motor is set up for it. The kit fits 2013 and newer motors, and some motors 2012 and earlier. Then instructions vary a bit for the 2012 and earlier motors (location of start button). Took about 2 hours taking my time. Used basic tools. Just be careful not to trap any wires behind the starter motor mount when you reinstall it. [links]

Tested continuity from the push button to what I'm calling the solenoid and wires are in fine shape. here

I have a 2004 yamaha 25hp 4 stroke electric start (push button) and I let it sit for about a week then when I tried to start it, nothing. not even a click.
Batteries are just fine, both of them have over 12v and I have a battery switch so I can throw both batteries at the starter if needed. but that is not the issue.
Pulled the shroud and there is one fuse, it's a 20A fuse and it was blown.
Put a new fuse in and it blew immediately. did it again. blew it immediately again.

Took the electrical tape off of all the wires and chased them down. all in good shape. taped them back up.

I have 12v from the battery to the starter. battery cables are good all the way to the motor.

That makes me think the solenoid is bad. but would a bad solenoid immediately blow that fuse? here
This is a 2003 Yamaha 4 Stroke 25 hp outboard boat motor for sale. This 4 Stroke outboard has an electric starter on it. This 25 hp Yamaha was used in Brackish Wather and has very low hours on it. We have fully boat tested this 25hp Yamaha and it runs perfect. It is very smooth and has plenty of power to push a This engine has a 15 inch short shaft which is ideal for small boats and skiffs. Since this motor is a 4 Stroke it will be EPA compliant with all bodies of water. The need to mix oil and gas is no longer necessary as this motor does it automatically. 4 Stroke technology operates the same as a car in which a valve and timing belt system is utilized. Brand new this motor is around $3200.00 with all the features that are included. This motor is very smooth, quiet, and produces virtully no exhaust smoke. This will be an ideal outboard for a small Boston Whaler, Carolina Skiff, Gheenoe, bass boat, jon boat, or any other small watercraft. here

The starter motor used on a 25 HP two stroke is different. The 25 HP manually started two stroke uses a different flywheel than does the 25 HP electric start model.
The kit that you mentioned is for an F6/F8 four stroke. I don't see it working on either a 25 or an F25.
