I purchased a Cabo 226 hull with this motor with intentions of re-powering. here

This is the best early model carburated 2 stroke motor you can find. Yamaha owned this market in the late 80s and 90s with this signature motor. Easy to work on. Parts are readily available. Runs 87 octane fuel and low grade 2 stroke oil (no expensive 92 octane fuel and expensive synthetic oil required). This motor is a mule!
I decided to keep the motor and run it until it failed. It failed - threw a bearing just out past the 43 hunting for late season tuna. 3 hr wait on a beautiful sunny day, and 5 hr tow ride back in. Sold the motor - with the thrown bearing - no kidding (big market for their parts down in Baja). [links]
This motor runs flawlessly. Fires up on turn of key. Strong and powerful. It came as a factory origional on a Cabo 226 Cuddy Con and pushed the boat effortlessly. Video and sea trail are available for serious buyer. more
I just purchased a used 1985 115 Yamaha outboard (model 115ETLK) with precision blend oil injection. I took it for the first run and the next day pulled the cover to check the motor and found half of the oil injection bottle on the engine had dumped into the plastic carburetor cover and had gotten deep enough in the lower cowling to start dripping down the throttle and shift cables into the boat (motor was tilted up). [links]
The oil was coming from a small brass button in the lower starboard carburetor ventri, the other three were fine. I found a few carb schematics but didn't find any that identified the little brass button. I am assuming it is like an oil jet that is part of the oil injection system but can anyone tell me why it is leaking? I'll probably wind up taking it apart but it would be nice to hear if someone knows what's up before I take it apart. I'll post a picture. here
